Chester Park Junior School - School Streets Survey

Closed 7 Jan 2022

Opened 1 Dec 2021

Overview

Bristol City Council is proposing to create a temporary walking, wheeling, cycling and scooting zone on a section of Abingdon Road (from Moorlands Road to the junction of Acton road) for approximately 40 minutes at school opening and closing times. The scheme would likely run from 08:30 – 09:10 in the morning and 14:50 - 15:30 in the afternoon on school days, during term-time only.

The proposals include the introduction of a one-way system on Acton Road northbound. This would be operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Residents living within the area will be able to exit the School Street zone in their vehicles at all times, but we will ask that they avoid re-entering the zone during the short period of times the scheme is in operation. Emergency vehicles and Blue Badge holders will have access to the School Street zone at all times.

The aims of the proposed scheme are to tackle congestion, unsafe parking and air pollution at the school gates and to make it safer and easier to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot to school. It should also reduce the impacts of school traffic for local residents.

We are asking what you think of our proposals regarding the introduction of a School Street outside Chester Park Junior School. Your views will help us to inform the design and guide our approach to the scheme.

Please respond to this survey no later than Friday 7 January 2022.  This survey should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete. You do not have to answer all the questions, but the more you tell us, the more we can take your views into account.
