Romney Avenue Area - parking and zebra crossing

Closed 15 Sep 2017

Opened 10 Aug 2017

Overview

The Horfield and Lockleaze Neighbourhood Partnership selected a parking review of the Romney Avenue area. Funding is also available for a zebra crossing.

Why We Are Consulting

A number of problems have already been raised by local residents through the Horfield and Lockleaze Forum, the Neighbourhood Partnership, or directly with Local Councillors and Officers.

These include obstruction of private drives and dangerous parking around corners and junctions making it difficult to travel around the area.

We have NOT been asked to consider a resident’s parking scheme, only how arising problems can be addressed with additions or changes to existing parking restrictions.

We are therefore proposing Double Yellow Lines (No Waiting At Any Time) at certain locations to remove dangerous parking – as shown in red on the plan overleaf.

As you will also see from the plan attached, we are also taking this opportunity to look at installing a Zebra Crossing near Stoke Park Primary School

What Happens Next

Any issues that are raised will be considered, and, if acceptable, will be turned into a proposed scheme. The scheme will then be advertised via the Statutory Consultation process / Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – which is the legal process we are required to follow in order to make the scheme enforceable
