Overview

The overall aim of the Childcare Development and Sustainability Service is to improve outcomes for families, children and young people in Bristol through access to high quality, sustainable and affordable childcare provision.

This Service will help us fulfil our statutory duties in relation to early years and childcare provision by commissioning a provider to facilitate and support the local childcare market.

Our current contract with the existing provider of the Childcare Development and Sustainability Service is coming to an end and we plan to recommission this service by January 2019.

We have written a draft commissioning strategy which sets out our commissioning priorities and procurement recommendations.

Why We Are Consulting

Your views are very important as they will help shape future services and commissioning arrangements.

We would like to hear from organisations that develop and support childcare, childcare providers, parents/carers, other professionals and anyone else who is interested.

What Happens Next

The feedback from this consultation will be used to inform the final commissioning strategy and proposals which will be taken to the Mayor and Cabinet for decision in June 2018.
