This consultation is about the future of adult social care community support services in Bristol. Services in scope of the consultation are: accommodation based support, commissioned day services, community outreach services and carers sitting services.

Please read the 'Draft Community Support services Strategy' in related documents below, before responding to this consultation.

There are a number of service user, general public and provider consultation events taking place in November. Please see dates and locations on our web page and how to book your place.

Why we are consulting

These services have not been reviewed since 2008. This is a critical sector of adult social care in Bristol with over 1000 service users and 100 providers of services at a cost of £15m per annum. It is time to commission these services more strategically with the aim of quality, value for money services that provider choice for service users and meet service user needs and levels of satisfaction.

The main survey link on this page is aimed at service providers in particular.  It requires reading parts of the full strategy document.

In the related links and documents below there is a PLAIN ENGLISH version of the strategy and survey that will be easier for people to complete.

You can choose which survey you want to respond to.  They ask about the same things, but in different ways.

What happens next

When the consultation closes, feedback from the consultation will be drafted into a consultation findings/ analysis report. This will be issued publicly. The consultation feedback will be used to develop a final Community Support Services Strategy, service specification and tender documents. These will be available in Spring 2016 for the start of the tender process.
