Overview

Bath & North East Somerset is consulting on a number of Strategic Transport Studies to support their Local Plan between 12th November 2018 and 7th January 2019.  Several of these transport schemes will have benefits and impacts for Bristol residents and we need your views.

The Transport Studies have developed the strategic infrastructure identified to support/facilitate growth in the West of England Joint Transport Study which can be found using the link below.

The Transport Studies are a crucial next step in developing new Local Plans. They evidence how we will provide the necessary transport infrastructure to support growth.

The following Transport Studies are being consulted upon in conjunction with the Bath & North East Somerset Local Plan:

  1. Hicks Gate Roundabout
  2. A4 to A4175 East Keynsham Corridor Study
  3. South East Bristol and Whitchurch Package

The South East Bristol and Whitchurch Package is particularly relevant for Bristol residents and includes the following transport schemes:

  • Orbital Highway Link, comprising a series of new highway schemes between A4/A4174 at Hicks Gate and Whitchurch Lane
  • Hicks Gate Park & Ride
  • Hicks Gate Junction Improvement
  • A37 Corridor Public Transport
  • Orbital Multi-modal Corridor
  • Walking and cycling improvements
