City Road / Brigstocke Road Signals Consultation

Closed 1 Nov 2019

Opened 21 Oct 2019

Overview

The equipment and design of this junction has now expired so Bristol City Council is looking to update and upgrade the junction as a whole. The equipment is failing and the design dates back to before the completion of the M32 and the improved network around Cabot Circus both of which have caused a significant reduction in traffic along City Road.

For more information please see the related documents (consultation leaflet and scheme plan) below.

Why We Are Consulting

This consultation aims to assess the views of citizens and local stakeholders, in order to ensure that the scheme design adequately addresses the problems in this area.

Please review the related documents carefully, then submit your comments to traffic.signals@bristol.gov.uk

What Happens Next

All suggestions and comments received will be taken into consideration and will help to inform the proposed scheme.

The next step after the receipt of comments and revision of the scheme is the drafting and publishing of the relevant statutory notice which is legally required for the implementation of the raised speed table. This process can be a lengthy legal process which will involve placing a Notice of Intent in the local press and posting notices on site to advertise the proposals.
