Overview

As part of the Government’s new fund for investment in walking, cycling and public transport the Council are seeking to deliver public realm improvements to the Stokes Croft Gateway. In the 1950’s some buildings north of St James Barton Roundabout were demolished to make way for a wide road. In discussion with traders and people representing properties that front the street we have a proposal to reallocate the unused space for cars to a used space for people. This consultation seeks views and comments on the proposal.

Why We Are Consulting

We have worked up the proposals with people representing the properties along Stokes Croft that are directly impacted. We have also presented the plans to Cabot and Ashley forums. We are now seeking the views of the wider community, people who regularly use the space. This consultation will inform any changes.

What Happens Next

We will respond to all people who make comments detailing a summary of the consultation and outline how we are taking the improvements forward.
