Short Breaks for children with disabilities - Parent & Carer Survey 2022

Closes 22 Jul 2022

Opened 18 May 2022

Overview

Short Breaks are activities for disabled children and young people and their families. Bristol City Council has a statutory responsibility to provide Short Breaks, as set out in our Short Breaks Statement developed with Bristol Parent Carers.

In the context of increased demand for Short Breaks services since 2019 and the pandemic, and coinciding with the expiry of current contracts, we are actively starting a process to recommission the whole Short Breaks offer.

No options have been decided yet for future services. At this early stage we are focussed on listening to parents and carers to understand what your priorities are and what services you would like to access.

The feedback from our engagement will be used to develop formal proposals that will go out to public consultation later this year, with the aim to have recommissioned services in place by October 2023.

We value your opinion and would appreciate if you could spare 10-15 minutes to complete our survey.

We have also produced an Easy Read version of the survey.

If you would like a paper copy or the information in an alternative format, please email jcu@bristol.gov.uk or phone: 07833482039.
