The responses to this consultation are summarised in this report.

There are a number of Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) across the city which are valid until 19th October 2020.

They are an area based order intended to deal with a particular nuisance or problem that is detrimental to an areas use. They are intended to ensure that the area can be enjoyed by all, safe from anti-social behaviour (ASB).

The PSPOs enables Police Officers and/or a designated representative from the council, to confiscate alcohol from individuals they believe are involved in causing ASB. If they fail to comply with the request it may result in a fixed penalty, or further action contained within the ASB, Crime & Policing Act 2014.

Why we are consulting

We are seeking your views on the future of the PSPO which affects your experience of the area.

We can either allow them to lapse, or extend them in their current form for a further 3 years.
