  • A new parking and drop-off area will be provided adjacent to the existing Claremont House.
  • A new main student entrance and Reception will be created from the drop-off area into the existing Coach House, which will be altered internally and fully refurbished.
  • A staff entrance will provide direct access from the car park and drop-off area into the existing Claremont House.
  • The rooms between the new student entrance and Reception will be refurbished as office space for staff and administration.
  • The ground floor of Claremont House will be refurbished as a Therapy area.
  • Aside from the existing Claremont House and Coach House, all other existing buildings on the site will be demolished.
  • The new building, to be linked to Claremont House and the Coach House, will accommodate a new hydrotherapy pool and changing area adjoining the Coach House.
  • A kitchen will be located next to the hydrotherapy pool with a new hall adjoining.
  • Opposite the hydrotherapy pool, kitchen and hall, will be two classrooms for Early Years.
  • The corridor from the Early Years will turn to the right, with a further Early Years classroom on the right hand side of the corridor and two Primary years classrooms on the left hand side of the corridor.
  • At the end of the corridor, there will be three Practical Teaching rooms; two on the right hand side and one on the left hand side. Lifts and stairs are envisaged to be located around this area.

  • From the first floor of Claremont House, the new building will provide accommodation for the Secondary years.
  • Two Secondary classrooms will be provided to the right hand side of the corridor leading from Claremont House. The left hand side of the corridor is envisaged to be glazed, overlooking the roof of the ground floor of the new building beneath.
  • Towards the end of the corridor, the corridor will turn right. On both sides of the corridor will be a further two Secondary classrooms.
  • Beyond the two Secondary classrooms will be three Post-16 classrooms; two on the left and one on the right.
  • A social area for Post-16 will be provided at the end of the corridor.
  • The first and second floors within Claremont House will be refurbished to provide office for staff and administration.

Proposed external spaces

Proposed external spaces - full description of the proposals below

  • A new parking and drop-off area will be created to the west of the building, adjacent to Claremont House and the Coach House.
  • To the south of both Claremont House and the new building, an area will be provided for main play space, including an interactive sensory garden, activity zones, incidental play equipment and interactive elements.
  • At the end of the main play space, it is envisaged to provide a Performance Space.
  • Between the main play space and new building, a courtyard will provide space for early years play. This area will be accessible directly from the adjoining Early Years classrooms.
  • A covered walkway will provide a protective external route from Claremont House to the new building.
  • At the southern end of the new building, trees will be planted to provide an area for a Forest School.
  • To the east of the new building, areas will be provided for Post-16 external social space plus areas envisaged for colourful canopies, raised kitchen gardens and an interactive pergola.
