Overview

Bristol City Council has a responsibility to arrange good quality care and support services for people who are eligible for Local Authority support. Some people receive care and support in their own home and this service is called Home Care. Some people choose to move into accommodation built especially to meet the needs of older people who wish to remain active and independent, such as Sheltered Housing or Extra Care Housing. In Extra Care Housing, people have access to on-site care and support and emergency response 24/7 if they need it.

All providers of care and support in your own home or an Extra Care Housing scheme offer the following:

  • Support to manage daily tasks in the home, and personal care to keep people healthy
  • An increase to independence by helping people regain skills to manage tasks alone

We would like to hear from those already receiving care and support, those who are interested in what services are provided so they can plan for the future, as well as their friends and families. Your views will help shape how we plan for and arrange Home Care and Extra Care Housing services in the future.

We have produced an easy read version of the survey which is available here.
